Oh, 2014 was NOT a fun year and it did not improve in 2015. I moved to West Virginia after a major life change that left me with a debilitating episode of grief and depression. I was working in a field I loved, but at a job that was soul-sucking. Most of the poems from that time explore those themes: struggling with mental heath, loss, inner demons, and the struggle to reemerge a little bit stronger.
